Ghost Writer 03:54
Maybe you won't just sigh when I say I want to die. It happens all the time. Maybe you won't notice when I call you out in a chorus tonight. You should have seen the signs. Maybe no one will notice the secrets I'm screaming. How I used to break hearts without thinking, how I love you more when I'm drinking. Inside my sober heart, there's a coward hiding. When I disappear, I hope these words fall on the right ears.

What's a regret without a story? What's a secret without meaning? Who am I, who will I be? I've got a lot of fucking time to find out, so stop rushing me. You got scared and ran ran ran ran ran all the way home. You threw two bottles of wine into my hands from your bedroom window. We shed our souls to the moon by the riverside. I never told you I loved you, I regret it all the time. So, if you're gonna do it, do it tonight.
3.
I saw you from the other side of this basement, looking made up and important Discontent but elegant I've been thinking 'bout you in that blue paisley dress I should have told you how great you looked in it I would say I ruin everything, but that would mean I tried You're sitting on the couch with your feet up and I'm kicking myself on the other side Maybe I don't ruin everything Just every opportunity I should have asked you to take a walk with me, I would said "I know I'm not great at singing, but if you gave me a reason, I'd shout your name across this city."
4.
You did anything you could just to feel. Cigarettes to your thighs, blade to your skin but still when the winter wind blows it passes through your bones like the smashed windows of your broken home. You tried to mend old friendships, breathe in finer air, find a love for life; but still you look in the mirror to the same empty stare, wondering where the spark in your eyes went until it reappears and the flames melt everything around you. Sometimes the bridges burn when you’re standing on them. I bet you wonder why you'll never recover. You said you should have known better, or thought worse. You're at the altar wearing a crown of flowers, and everyone can tell this isn't real. You're the flame on the match you used to burn your wedding dress when your "man to be" went for a walk to warm up his cold feet. You haven't seen him in three weeks, but the flower crown still lays next to the ring. Everyone can tell this isn't real, maybe you should wake up.
